About the Artist

 
Joey Caldarone originally hails from New Jersey, and has had a Hawai’i connection since the age of four when he and his family first moved to the islands in 1980.  A Cornell University graduate, Joey possesses both creative and business talents.  Joey has become known as a local actor, singer, entrepreneur, and eclectic personality for his portrayal of leading roles in local theaters, and varying pursuits and talents.  In addition to being seen in several local independent films and tv propgrams on OC 16, you might have seen him in 2005 as “The Engineer”, in Army Community Theater’s Miss Saigon.  Joey has emceed and performed for several fundraising galas with local charities, including The Hawaii Theater.  He also received a Po’okela Award for the role of “Mary Sunshine” in Diamond Head Theater’s Chicago.  Most recently he was "Conrad Birdie" in Army Community Theater's production of Bye Bye Birdie.  As an artist, Joey's oversized abstract artwork is featured at the W Hotel’s Diamond Head Grill.  His art can be seen in several local boutiques and galleries, in the collection of large Honolulu corporations, and in the homes of many prominent Honolulu personalities.  Joey is also highly involved in the community, and currently sits on the board of directors of The Manoa Valley Theater.
